The Mid-Winter Professional Development Conference is two and a half days of training for law enforcement executives. In addition, there are two days of exhibits featuring the newest products and technology to assist agencies and personnel. The conference also features an awards banquet during which awards for Traffic Safety and Legislator/Public Servant of the Year are presented. All MACP members and related law enforcement officials are invited.  Also, meeting at the Conference will be the Michigan Sheriff’s Association, federal agencies, and various regional chiefs associations, as well as MACP committees.

Before the ASP was formed, SWAT training throughout the state was similar, but not consistent. Teams had difficulty training together, much less working on tactical problems together, due to differences in training theory, techniques, and application. The Association of SWAT Personnel formed in an effort to bring continuity and consistency in training to tactical teams in the state. Today, over 1200 members can take advantage of: 1. Organized training opportunities for tactical teams all over the state 2. Training at a minimal cost to each agency 3. Programs that bridge the agency gap with commonality 4.
