DESCRIPTION:In the early 1970s\, it was clearly evident that drug trafficking and drug abuse\, impacted all social and economic levels of American society. Any effort to curtail this epidemic need to be comprehensive and coordinated involving all levels of government\, our social institutions\, and our workplace. Cooperatively recognizing the need to coordinate drug enforcement efforts\, eight Southeastern states joined to form the State Drug Enforcement Alliance in 1970\, to meet three distinct needs: \n1. To foster greater cooperation and coordination between member agencies by: \n\nThe exchange of information\nThe sharing of ideas and methods for detection and apprehension\nThe development of legislative issues and effective legislation\, and\nThe support of parent\, civic\, and school efforts in drug education\n\n2. To provide a mechanism for state drug enforcement input to federal-level policy\, procedures\, and operations through: \n\nThe identification of national drug issues\nThe development of clear and consistent policy for application and enforcement of federal drug control laws\, and\nThe development of coordination and cooperation with and between federal\, state\, and local drug enforcement.\n\n3. DESCRIPTION:2015 marks the 18th Annual IDEOA Training Conference! The main speaker on will be retired FBI Special Agent Joe Pistone\, the inspiration for the 1997 film\, Donnie Brasco. Another presenter this year will be by Silouan Green\, veteran who has worked with military veterans and police officers on issues of transition and service\, on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. \nBreakout sessions will be three-hour blocks of instruction that run simultaneously. SUMMARY:Illinois Crisis Negotiators Conference (NCIA)
DESCRIPTION:In June of 1999 NCIA was formed by a handful of law enforcement officers representing local\, county\, state\, and federal agencies determined to encourage and provide education\, interaction\, and networking between Crisis Negotiators in the State of Illinois. \nOver the past decade NCIA has grown to include over 250 members from law enforcement\, correctional\, mental health\, and criminal justice professionals dedicated to the safe and successful resolution when responding to a variety of crisis incidents. To help ensure that NCIA members are prepared to respond when a crisis strikes\, they remain dedicated to the mission of providing members with the most current and effective Crisis Negotiation training\, resources\, ideologies\, practices\, and techniques available.
